Doomsday has finally arrived. Earth, the homeworld of the human species, once a prosperous and pure cradle, has for decades been a lifeless, radioactive wasteland, a shadow of the former greatness of previous ages. The pitiful remnants of humanity are forced to wander the ruins of the Old World and fight for resources and life. Mutants, rogue robots and dangers that lurk in forbidden places are the scourge of the New World.

Past generations dreamed of a utopia without war and chaos, heralded by Orbital Industries, which is led by the genius of Mr. History. But because of its insatiable greed, carelessness and hypocrisy, their descendants inherited a hell, illuminated by the corpse of what was once the Moon, a shattered satellite whose fragments bombarded the Earth.

As if that weren't enough, shortly after this Event, humanity experienced nuclear war, which finished off the already dying world. It's hypocritical that O.I. sold nuclear weapons to the superpowers, and they also built a global network of bunkers, H.I.V.E., now sarcastically called H.E.L.L. Humanity will never forget their empty promises, which were worth very little.

For O.I., science and research were more important than human well-being or even ecology, but especially when it came to the dark, forbidden knowledge of Null-Engineering. The reality-altering discipline has become both a blessing and a nightmare for the New World, born of chaos and destruction. People once again experienced animal fear, similar to how their ancient ancestors viewed sorcerers and witches.

Among the dilapidated ruins, communities of survivors emerge to fight mutants and robots, and scavengers to dig into old O.I. technology. It seems they have every chance to regain the right to life and rebuild civilization. But there is one question that haunts everyone: can humanity truly revive civilization, or are these their last days?
